White Rock Kayaking, Canoe and Paddle Board
For 24 years White Rock has been our paddling home and for many years our residence. We know the area and surrounding area very well: the winds, the currents, the beaches, the wildlife and many in the local paddling community. It truely is a great place to explore, with a long intertidal beach that offers faily shallow and warm (summer) waters, beautiful mountain veiws and a fair bit of wildlife potential. It is not uncommon to see seals, harbour porpoise and in the spring time grey whales, in recent years sea lions have been fairly common as well. Summer mornings and evenings are typically calm with glass like conditions, while afternoons get some chop offering a little bit more challenge. While off season it is exposed to the typical storm winds offering at low tidessome fun wind wave surf play (for the experienced). Although we have made a new home in the East Kootenays we look forward to returning for portions of the paddling season to make new friends and visit with past ones.
